Additional Credit Union Precautions and Support

More than anything, please know that you are financially safe at Arapahoe Credit Union. We are highly-rated, with top regulatory marks, and a history of conservative financials. Importantly, all savings here are federally insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA and this is per social security number. This means that joint accounts and many other setups are actually insured to $500,000 or more. Your money is safe.

The critical part here is to make sure that your finances stay in order during the chaos. ACU has made enormous efforts to ensure that we experience minimal disruption. As we experience lobby closures, we will maintain our Communication Center with phone, email, chat, voice banking,  and secure messaging services. We will also have normal ATM access, night drop, and drive through service.  We also have account and loan services as detailed below.

Please note that branch lobbies will be closing on Thursday, the 19th. We will reopen as soon as we can. Until then, see the below access options for the most convenient transaction methods.

Use Nationwide ATM Access, Service Centers and Electronic Tools

While our drive-up, ATMs, night drop and Communications Center are open, our two branches will be closed beginning Thursday, the 19th. Below you will find the best resources to help with this closure. The app will let you move money, pay bills, view your transactions, and transfer to people if you choose. ATMs and branch locations will be the most useful for cash. However, please note that there may be limits in place.

We know that the current environment is going to cause problems for many of us. We have already gone through extensive planning to provide assistance when needed. However, we need to know when we can help. Please contact us immediately if you think you will have issues with a payment or have questions about your account. Everyone’s situation will be different, but we can possibly help through a number of avenues including:

  • Loan Due Date Extensions
  • Skip Payments
  • Modifications
  • Refinances
  • Expertise – We are really, really good at what we do. Let us work with you if you need help. It may be a product, tool, or other resource; we know what’s available.

Know Our Limits

We have all had to watch aggressive hoarding cause so much hardship over the last few weeks. While understandable, it hasn't exactly helped the overall situation. We will also have to make adjustments to how we handle drive-through security as those transactions become more prominent. As such, please note that we will be limiting cash withdrawals to $3,000 per day until further notice. You will be able to transact at the drive through.

Please know that this does not affect your accounts at all, but it does allow us to distribute our cash-on-hand to all that need it. To accommodate this, we are increasing our deliveries. Our branch managers are also able to schedule withdrawals as our cash supply is replenished. We don't want to inconvenience anyone, so please let us know, in advance, how we can help you. Arapahoe Credit Union is working diligently to ensure the health and safety of our staff, members, and visitors. Using guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and others, we have begun to implement a wide range of preventative measures to reduce health risks and ensure you have the consistent financial support we provide.

In short, we are being vigilant on cleanliness. You will likely see us in branches taking extra time to wipe and disinfect surfaces. We will also be placing hand sanitizer stations as they become available. Perhaps most importantly, we will be temporarily limiting physical contact where possible. Please know that we mean no ill-offense for a missed handshake and will resume our normal practices when we are able.

We are also encouraging members to take preventative steps. We, of course, suggest reviewing the standard safety recommendations found here. This includes the basics like washing your hands thoroughly and avoiding touching your face, but also includes other recommendations like avoiding scams that arise when there is social urgency.

Further, we thoroughly anticipate being here to help you in our branches. However, our mobile app, online banking, and call center are fantastic resources as well. Please just know that our call hold times might be longer than usual (we apologize for any inconvenience). Our coming shred-a-thon is still scheduled, but we will be working for a clean, full-service environment with thorough precautions. If anything changes we will promptly notify you through our website and email if necessary.
